Niacin, checked
Vitamin B3 and memory: what do niacin studies show?
Vitamin B3 and memory are linked by one food-intake cohort and by severe deficiency, not by supplement trials. Niacin from food was tied to lower Alzheimer risk in 6,158 older adults, an association only. MemoHoney lists 7.5 mg NE, 47% of the Daily Value, and no trial tested that amount.

Is vitamin B3 from food linked to memory?
Yes, as an association: higher niacin from food was linked to lower Alzheimer risk in one Chicago cohort, but that is not proof of cause.
The study followed 6,158 residents aged 65 and older. Among 815 people clinically evaluated, those in the second and top fifths of dietary niacin had a relative risk of 0.3 against the lowest fifth, with an uneven pattern. People who eat more niacin-rich foods may differ in many other ways (Morris 2004, dietary niacin cohort). The study measured food intake, not capsules.
Does niacin deficiency cause memory problems?
Severe deficiency does: pellagra, caused by a marked lack of niacin, brings diarrhea, dermatitis, dementia and death, but it is rare where diets are varied.
That tells us a body needs niacin. It does not show that extra niacin helps someone who is not deficient (Hegyi 2004, pellagra review). A broad Cochrane review found B vitamins probably have little or no effect on cognition in healthy adults (Rutjes 2018, Cochrane vitamins).
How strong is the niacin and memory evidence?
The evidence is small and uncertain: the meter rates niacin 1 out of 4 for memory, focus or brain blood flow.

| MemoHoney label | 7.5 mg NE (47% DV) | No trial |
| Daily Value and RDA for men | 16 mg NE | Needed to avoid deficiency |

Flushing starts at about 30 to 50 mg of nicotinic acid (NIH ODS, Niacin). The label does not say which form it uses.

See the priceWhat does 7.5 mg NE add in the MemoHoney capsule?
It adds a bit under half the 16 mg Daily Value of vitamin B3, and no study ties that amount to memory.
The seller's page links niacin to cellular energy, a marketing idea we cannot confirm. MemoHoney is a dietary supplement, not a drug, and contains no honey. Keep taking prescribed medicine. Memory problems that are new or getting worse need a clinician. See the niacin page.
Is it worth ordering for the niacin?
Not for the niacin alone: a multivitamin or a varied diet gives vitamin B3 too.

FAQ
MemoHoney questions people ask
Is niacin shown to help memory?
Not shown. Food niacin was linked to lower Alzheimer risk in one observational cohort, and the Cochrane review found B vitamins probably have little or no effect on cognition in healthy adults. No trial tested a 7.5 mg NE capsule.
Is niacin memory research based on supplements?
Mostly not. The best-known study measured niacin from food with a questionnaire. Pellagra reports describe severe deficiency. Neither shows what a supplement does in a person who eats enough niacin.
How much vitamin B3 do adults need?
The RDA is 16 mg NE for men and 14 mg for women, and the supplement upper limit is 35 mg a day. A MemoHoney capsule lists 7.5 mg NE, 47% of the 16 mg Daily Value.
Can niacin cause flushing?
Nicotinic acid can, at about 30 to 50 mg or more; nicotinamide does not. The MemoHoney panel lists niacin in NE and does not name the form, so we cannot say whether flushing is likely at 7.5 mg NE.
